Why We Built Softalon
We spent a long time studying how salon owners actually run their businesses. Not the idealized version — the real, day-to-day reality.
What we found was a pattern. Most salon owners are stitching together three, four, sometimes five different tools just to get through a week. One app for bookings, another for payments, a separate tool for reminders, maybe a spreadsheet for tracking revenue. None of them talk to each other. None of them really fit.
And for those using all-in-one platforms, the tradeoff is usually control. The platform decides how your booking page looks. The platform picks which payment processor you use. The platform messages your clients on your behalf — sometimes promoting competitors right next to your listing.
We wanted to build something different. A platform that gives salon owners the right tools to do their job well — without asking them to give up ownership of their business in return.

At the core of Softalon is a calendar built specifically for salon workflows. Drag-and-drop appointments, per-member availability, buffer times between services, calendar sync with Google and Outlook — the things you need to keep your day running smoothly without thinking about them.
A Booking Experience You Actually Own
Every salon on Softalon gets a fully customizable online booking page. Your brand, your colors, your services, your policies. Clients can find available times, pick their preferred staff member, and book — at 2am on a Sunday if that's when they remember to schedule their next appointment. They can also manage their own appointments, view invoices, and leave reviews — all without needing to call or message you.
(And if you want to take it even further — our REST API lets you build your own custom booking website with the same features, fully integrated into Softalon.)
Your Payment Provider, Your Choice
We don't process your payments for you and take a cut. Instead, you connect your own payment provider — Stripe, PayPal, or Square — and every transaction goes directly to your account. Set deposit policies to protect against no-shows. Create custom invoices. Track your revenue. The money is yours from the moment a client pays.
Client Relationships That Belong to You
This is something we feel strongly about. Your client data is yours. We don't contact your clients. We don't send them marketing on your behalf. We don't recommend other salons to them. There are no automatic messages going out unless you explicitly set them up.
Every client gets a full profile — appointment history, personal notes, preferences, contact details — so you know exactly who's walking through the door. But what happens with that information is entirely your decision.
Workflows That Work How You Think
Most salon tools give you a toggle: reminders on or off. Softalon gives you a visual workflow builder.
You design automated sequences that trigger on real events in your salon — an appointment is booked, a client confirms, an invoice is paid, a review is left. Then you decide what happens next: send an email, an SMS, a push notification straight to your client's device, wait a set amount of time, check a condition, or fire off an HTTP request to any external tool.
Want to send a reminder 24 hours before an appointment, then a follow-up the next day asking for a review, but only if the appointment wasn't cancelled? You can build that in minutes. Nothing runs unless you set it up. Nothing sends unless you tell it to.
An AI Assistant That Handles the Conversations
Softalon includes a built-in AI assistant that lives on your booking page and can connect to your WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and Instagram DMs. It answers client questions, suggests available time slots, and handles bookings — around the clock, across every channel your clients already use.
It knows your services, your staff, your availability. When a client messages you on Instagram asking "do you have anything open this Saturday?", it gives them real answers based on your actual calendar — not a generic "please call us during business hours" response.
