The salon's emails and texts can include links to confirm, cancel, reschedule or update an appointment, leave a review, pay, or join a meeting. Each link is tied to one appointment, invoice or meeting at that salon. You don't need to sign in to use them.
When a link doesn't do what you expect, the cause is usually one of the cases below.
If something is off
The link opens the Softalon website instead of the salon's site
Short links in texts can get cut off or mistyped when copied. An incomplete short link can't be matched, so it lands on the Softalon home page. Open the link straight from the original message instead of copying it. If that doesn't help, ask the salon to send it again.
The link opens the salon's home page and nothing else happens
The link is incomplete or damaged, or it belongs to a different salon's website. Open it straight from the original message. If it still lands on the home page, sign in and manage the appointment from Appointments, or contact the salon.
It says the appointment is already canceled or already confirmed
The link has already been used, or the salon made the change for you. Nothing more to do. You'll be taken back to the salon's home page.
It says the appointment can no longer be changed
The appointment is completed, declined or marked as no-show. Links can't change finished appointments. Contact the salon if something is wrong.
I get an error saying canceling or rescheduling is not allowed
The link works, but the salon's rules don't allow the change. The salon may not allow online changes, or the appointment may be too close to its start time. See Cancel an appointment and Reschedule an appointment.
The page keeps loading
The appointment may have been removed by the salon. Check that you're online and reload the page. If it still doesn't load, contact the salon.
The salon's site says it's unavailable
The salon's online booking site is turned off for now. See The salon's site says it's unavailable.
The link opens inside Instagram, Facebook or another app
Some apps open links in their own built-in browser. If the page doesn't work there, use the app's menu to open the link in your regular browser, such as Safari or Chrome.
Manage the appointment another way
If a link keeps failing, you can still manage your appointment:
- Sign in on the salon's website with your email or phone number.
- Open Appointments from your profile menu.
- Use the buttons and the three-dot menu on the appointment.
Common questions
Appointment links don't expire after a set time. They stop working when the appointment can no longer be changed, for example once it's completed or canceled.
