The salon can send you messages about your appointments, like confirmations and reminders. You decide which channels they may use. You can also turn on push notifications for this browser and look back at the messages you've received.

Before you start

Turn channels on or off

  1. 1

    Step 1 of 3

    Open your notification settings

Select your profile picture or initials in the top-right corner of the header, then Account, then Notifications.

  2. 2

    Step 2 of 3

    Choose your channels

In Notification Preferences, use the switches:

    • Push Notifications for alerts in your browser or on your home screen
    • Email Notifications for emails
    • SMS Notifications for text messages
    • WhatsApp, for WhatsApp messages

All channels are on until you turn them off.

  3. 3

    Step 3 of 3

    Save

Select the save button at the bottom of the card.

    You will see:

    A message saying Preferences Updated.

Turning off a channel stops the salon's messages on that channel, which can include your sign-in code. Keep at least one channel on that the salon uses for codes, so you can still sign in.

Text messages also depend on the consent box you ticked when booking. If you didn't agree to transactional texts, the salon doesn't text you, even with SMS Notifications turned on.

Turn on push notifications

Push notifications appear on your device even when the salon's website isn't open. You turn them on separately on each browser or device.

  1. 1

    Step 1 of 1

    Enable push on this device

In the Push Notifications card, select Enable. When your browser asks for permission, allow notifications.

    You will see:

A message saying Notifications Enabled, and the button changes to Disable.

Shortly after you sign in, the site may also ask Enable Push Notifications? Select Enable Notifications, or Not Now to decide later. You're only asked once on each browser.

To stop push notifications, select Disable, then choose:

  • Disable This Device to stop them only on the browser you're using
  • Disable All Devices to stop them everywhere you turned them on

See your notification history

The Notification History card lists the messages the salon sent you, with who they went To, the Channel, the Subject, a preview of the Content and the date. Open the menu on a row and select Preview to read a message in full.

For your security, codes and links may be hidden in these previews.

If something is off

It says notifications are blocked

You blocked notifications for this site in your browser earlier. Allow them in your browser's site settings, then select Enable again.

It says push notifications are not supported in this browser

Your browser can't receive push notifications from websites. Try another browser. On iPhone and iPad, add the salon to your Home Screen first, then turn on push from the app you added.

I turned a channel off, but I still got a message

The salon may have sent it through a different channel, or before you saved your change. Check the Channel column in Notification History.
