Settings › General holds the basics: how your salon is named and shown, and the language and time settings Softalon uses for your salon. Super Administrators and the Owner can change them.

Each card has its own Save button. Changes apply as soon as you save.

Name & Category

SettingWhat it does
NameYour salon's name across Softalon and on your booking site.
CategoryThe type of business, such as Hair Salon, Barbershop or Med Spa. It helps clients understand what you offer. If none fits, choose Other and let us know through the link under the field.

Your subdomain isn't here. To change it, go to Settings › Domains. See Change your subdomain or primary domain.

Avatar

Your salon's picture across Softalon, for example on the Overview page and in the salon switcher. Click the image to upload a new one. Click Remove Avatar to go back to your salon's initials.

Localization

New salons start with values based on where you created the salon and on your account language. Check them once, especially the timezone.

SettingWhat it doesOptions
LanguageThe language of your booking site, of invoice PDFs, and of invitation emails sent to people who don't have a Softalon account yet.English (US), Deutsch (DE), Français (FR), Español (ES), Italiano (IT), Português (PT), Hrvatski (HR), Bosanski (BA), Srpski (RS)
TimezoneThe timezone of your salon. Clients see available times on your booking site in this timezone, and the calendar shows appointments in it.Any timezone
Week Starts OnThe first day of the week in the calendar.Sunday to Saturday
Time FormatHow times are written, for example on the calendar and your booking site.12-hour or 24-hour
Date FormatHow dates are written in your automation messages.MM/DD/YYYY, DD/MM/YYYY, DD.MM.YYYY, YYYY/MM/DD

The salon timezone is used for booking. Some dashboard tables, such as lists with dates, use your own browser's timezone. If you travel, times in those tables follow your device, while the calendar and booking site stay on salon time.

Changing the language later

When you switch the language, Softalon also translates default texts on your booking site that you haven't edited yet, such as the header links, the home page buttons, the About text and the live chat greeting. Texts you wrote yourself stay as they are.

The language here is for your salon. Your own app language is a personal setting. See Account preferences explained.

Common questions

No. Appointments keep their exact moment in time. They're shown in the new timezone, so the clock time you see may change.
