Every salon on Softalon gets its own booking website. Clients use it to browse your services, book appointments, pay, and manage their visits. You design it under Settings › Appearance and control the booking rules under Settings › Booking.

Where your site lives

Your site starts on a free address, yourname.onsoftalon.com, that you chose when you created the salon. You can change it or connect your own domain, such as book.hairhaven.com. See Change your subdomain or primary domain and Connect a custom domain.

If a salon has more than one domain, every domain redirects to the Primary Domain, so clients and search engines always land on one address.

You can turn the Services, Locations, Members, Reviews, Gallery and About pages off. A visitor who opens a page that's turned off goes to your home page instead. See Turn site pages on or off.

The header, footer and colors are shared by every page. See Edit your site's header and footer and Change your site's colors, logo and icon.

The booking flow

Clients book in steps: choose a location, a service, a team member and a time, then enter their details and check out. You can reorder the first four steps and hide the team member step. Client details and checkout always come last. See Change booking steps and contact fields.

Available times always appear in your salon's time zone, wherever the client is.

Client sign-in and account

Clients sign in with a one-time code sent to their email address or phone number. There's no password to remember. Once signed in, a client can:

  • see their upcoming and past appointments
  • reschedule, cancel or add notes, if your policies allow it
  • view and pay their invoices
  • update their profile, if you allow profile updates
  • choose how you contact them and turn on push notifications

You set what clients can change in Settings › Booking › Policies & Restrictions. See Let clients cancel or reschedule online.

Live chat

If your plan includes the AI assistant and you turn on live chat, a chat button appears on your site's pages. Clients can ask questions or book through the chat. See Turn on live chat on your booking site.

Add to home screen

Your site works as an installable web app. Clients can add it to their phone's home screen, and it opens like an app with your name and icon. You set the name and icons in Settings › Appearance › Theme › App Identity.

Booking from your own website

Already have a website? Add a small script and your booking flow opens on top of your own pages, without sending clients away. See Add booking and chat to your own website.

When your site shows as unavailable

Your site shows a Salon Unavailable page instead of your content when:

  • your Softalon subscription is canceled, unpaid or incomplete, or
  • the salon has been deactivated.

Sites stay online while you're on a trial, on an active plan, or past due on a payment. The unavailable page shows a Contact Salon button that uses the email address from Settings › Company, or your phone number if there's no email.

If your site suddenly shows as unavailable, check Settings › Plan & Billing first. See My subscription payment failed.

Common questions

Each salon has one site. You can point several domains at it, and they all redirect to your primary domain.
