The Dashboard is the first page you see when you open a salon. It shows four summary cards and four charts for the date range you pick. Every number is calculated only from records inside that range. Nothing uses a lifetime total or a rolling window.
Date range, filters and comparisons
Control
What it does
Date range picker
Sets the period for every card and chart. The default is the current month up to today. Days start and end at midnight in the salon's timezone, not your browser's.
Filters (funnel button)
Narrows the dashboard to one Location, one Member, or both. Choose Any Location or Any Member to remove a filter, then select Apply.
Refresh button
Reloads every card and chart with the latest data.
"vs previous period"
Each card compares the range with the same number of days right before it. If you pick March 1–15, the comparison is February 14–28. The change is a percentage of the previous value. When the previous value is zero, the card shows the plain difference instead.
Each card has a small menu next to its title. Use it to switch what the card shows, for example from Revenue to Paid Revenue. Hover over a card to see a breakdown of the current period.
Team members with the User role see only their own data on the dashboard: their appointments, their invoices and their occupancy. Administrators, Super Administrators and Owners see the whole salon.
What counts as an appointment
Throughout the dashboard, a "booked" appointment is one with the status Confirmed, Completed or No Show. Appointments that are canceled, declined or still waiting for confirmation or payment are not part of the main totals, but you can still view them by status.
Appointments are placed in the range by their start time.

Appointments (All)
Booked appointments in the range
Count of appointments that start in the range with status Confirmed, Completed or No Show.
Appointments (Completed), (Confirmed), (No Show)
Appointments with that status
Count of appointments that start in the range and have that status now.
Appointments (Declined), (Canceled)
Requests you declined, appointments that were canceled
Same count, for that status. These are not in the All total.

Clients
Metric
What it shows
How it's calculated
Clients (All)
Different clients who visited
Number of distinct clients with at least one booked appointment in the range. Each client counts once, however many times they came.
New Clients
Clients visiting for the first time
Clients whose first booked appointment ever starts inside the range.
Returning Clients
Clients who had visited before
Clients with a booked appointment in the range whose first booked appointment started before the range.
Walk-In Clients
Visits with no client attached
Number of booked appointments in the range that have no client profile. This counts appointments, not people.
When you filter by location or member, "first visit" means the client's first booked appointment at that location or with that member.
Revenue
Revenue comes from invoices. An invoice is placed in the range by its revenue date: for an appointment invoice this is the appointment's start time (it moves if you reschedule), and for a custom invoice it's the date the invoice was created.
Metric

How it's calculated
Revenue (Total)
What you billed
Sum of the totals of finalized invoices in the range. Draft invoices are not included.
Paid Revenue
The part of that total that was paid
For each finalized invoice, the amount paid up to the invoice total, added up.
Tips Collected
Money paid above the invoice total
For each finalized invoice, the amount paid beyond its total, added up. An overpayment is treated as a tip.
Unpaid Revenue
What clients still owe
For each finalized invoice, its total minus what was paid (never below zero), added up.
Expected Revenue
Value of invoices not finalized yet
Sum of the totals of draft invoices in the range, for example invoices for upcoming appointments.
"Paid" counts payments with the status completed, refunded or partially refunded at their full amount. Refunds are not subtracted from revenue. Softalon treats a refund as an operational cost, and the Financial report shows refunds separately.
If you have invoices in another currency, each one is converted to your salon currency at the exchange rate of its revenue date, and the card shows "≈" before the amount.
Occupancy
Occupancy shows how much of your team's working time was booked. It uses the same rules as booking availability, explained in How available times are calculated.
Metric
What it shows
How it's calculated
Available Time
Working time your team had
For each active member and day: their working hours at the locations they're assigned to (a special day replaces the weekly hours on that date), minus closed periods, salon-wide blocked time and the member's time off. Overlapping hours at two locations count once.
Occupied Time
Booked part of that time
The member's booked appointments, including buffer time, plus blocked time for that member, counted only where it falls inside their available time. Overlaps count once.
Free Time
Unbooked working time
Available Time minus Occupied Time.
Occupancy Rate
Share of working time that was booked
Occupied Time divided by Available Time. If there is no available time, the card shows a dash instead of 0%.
Salon opening hours don't affect occupancy. Only each member's own working hours create available time.
Charts
The four charts use the same definitions as the cards above. Each chart splits the range into bars:
Range length
One bar per
Up to 31 days
Day
32–90 days
Week (starting on your salon's first day of the week)
91–730 days
Month
Longer
Year
A bar that covers only part of a week, month or year is shown faded and labeled with the dates it actually covers.
Chart
What it shows
How it's calculated
Appointments
Appointments per bar, by status
Appointments grouped by the day they start. All shows booked appointments; the menu shows one status at a time.
Revenue
Revenue per bar
Invoices grouped by revenue date. Shows total, paid, tips, unpaid and expected amounts with the same rules as the Revenue card.
Clients
Clients per bar
Distinct clients per bar, split into new and returning, plus walk-in appointments. A client is new in a bar if their first visit falls in or after the start of that bar.
Occupancy
Rate and hours per bar
Occupancy Rate (%), Occupied Hours, Available Hours and Free Hours per bar. A bar with no available time has no rate.
Common questions
The card counts each client once for the whole range. The chart counts each client once per bar, so a client who came in two different weeks appears in both bars.
