Block a client when you no longer want them to book with you online, for example after repeated no-shows. Blocking keeps the profile and its history, and you can undo it at any time.
What blocking does
When a blocked client tries to book online, the booking is refused with an error message when they submit it. Signing in fails the same way.
Block a client
- 1
Step 1 of 2
Find the client
In the sidebar, go to Clients and find the client. Use the search box if you need to.
- 2
Step 2 of 2
Block them
Open the โฎ menu at the end of the row and choose Block.
You can also click the row to open Client Details and click Block, or turn off the status switch next to the client's name. On the client's profile, the โฎ menu in the header has the same Block option.
You will see:A Client Blocked message. On the Clients page, a crossed-out person icon replaces the client's photo, and Client Details shows the status as Blocked.
Unblock a client
Open the โฎ menu on the client's row and choose Unblock, or turn the status switch back on in Client Details. You'll see Client Unblocked. The client can book and sign in again right away.
Every team member can block and unblock clients. If only certain people should do this in your salon, agree on it as a team.
If something is off
A blocked client still has an appointment on the calendar
Blocking doesn't cancel existing appointments. Cancel them yourself if needed. See Cancel an appointment or mark a no-show.
A blocked client booked again with different details
Blocking applies to the profile. If the client books with an email address and phone number that aren't on any profile, Softalon creates a new client. Block that profile too.
Common questions
Blocking doesn't change notifications or automations. Cancel their upcoming appointments if you don't want them to get reminders.
