Create your salon and choose a plan

Creating a salon takes three short steps: Salon Details, Choose Plan and Billing & Payment. You become the salon's Owner automatically.

   Start a new salon

   On the Overview page, click Create Salon. You can also open the salon switcher in the sidebar and click Create New Salon.

   Enter your salon details

   Fill in the Salon Details step:

   • Name: at least 3 characters, for example Hair Haven.
   • Category: the type of business, such as Hair Salon, Barbershop or Nail Salon.
   • Subdomain: the address of your booking site, ending in .onsoftalon.com. Softalon suggests one from your salon name as you type.

   The subdomain must be at least 3 characters and can use only lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens. It can't start or end with a hyphen. Softalon checks availability as you type. If it's taken, you see This subdomain is not available. Please try another one or retry later.

   Click Continue.

   You will see:

   The Choose Plan step opens. Your salon now exists as a draft.

   Choose a plan

   Use the Monthly and Yearly tabs to switch between billing intervals, and pick your currency if more than one is offered. Then click Choose Plan on the plan you want.

   If your salon can get a free trial, each plan shows how many days are free. A salon gets a trial only if it has never had a subscription before.

   Add billing and payment details

   The Billing & Payment step shows a summary with the plan, any trial, the total and the Total due today.

   • To use a coupon, type it into Add coupon code... and click Apply.
   • If you're starting a free trial, you can choose Skip for now to start without a card, or Add now to add a card. You won't be charged today either way.
   • If you're not on a trial, add a payment method and your billing address.

   Click Start Trial or Subscribe.

   You will see:

   Your new salon's dashboard opens.

Draft salons

A salon that has no subscription yet shows a Draft badge on the Overview page. This happens when you close the flow after the first step.

• Click the draft to pick up where you left off, at the plan step.
• To remove a draft, open its ⋯ menu and click Delete. Only the owner sees this option.

Activation links

If the Softalon team set up a salon for you, you may get an activation link. It opens the same flow with your salon's name, category and subdomain already filled in, and may preselect a plan or coupon. You start at the plan step.

Each activation link creates one salon. If the link was already used, has expired or doesn't exist, you see a message and can continue without it. For an expired link, contact us for a new one.

What happens next

• If you don't have a default salon yet, the new salon becomes your default. You can change it in your account preferences. See Switch salons and set a default salon.
• A Complete Setup banner invites you to run the setup wizard. See Complete the setup wizard.
