A closed period blocks online booking for your whole salon: every team member, at every location. Use it for holidays like Thanksgiving, a renovation, staff training or a private event.

Before you start

  • You need the Administrator role or higher to add closed periods from the calendar.
  • The Closed Periods card in Settings › Company needs access to salon settings, which starts at the Super Administrator role.
  • Closed periods don't cancel appointments. Check the calendar for bookings in that period first.
  1. 1

    Step 1 of 4

    Open the closed period dialog

    Use either path:

    • Go to Calendar, select Add, then Closed Period.
    • Go to Settings › Company and select Add Closed Period in the Closed Periods card.
  2. 2

    Step 2 of 4

Name it and choose a type

    Fill in:

    • Name, for example Christmas Holiday.
    • Description, optional.
    • Type: Holiday, Maintenance, Staff Training, Private Event or Other. The type is for your records and doesn't change how booking is blocked.
  3. 3

    Step 3 of 4

    Set the start and end

Pick the start and end date and time in your salon's time zone. Times move in 5-minute steps, and the end must be after the start.

To close for whole days, start at the beginning of the first day and end at the end of the last day. To close early on Christmas Eve, start the period at the new closing time.

  4. 4

    Step 4 of 4

    Save

    Select Add Closed Period.

    You will see:

Closed Period Created, and the period in the Closed Periods list in Settings › Company.

What a closed period does

  • Clients can't book anyone at any location during the period.
  • Appointments already booked in that period stay in place. Reschedule or cancel them yourself.
  • It doesn't change the opening hours shown on your booking site.
  • It shows on the calendar when Show Closed Periods is turned on in the calendar settings. In Schedule View, affected days are labeled Closed.
  • Team members can still book during a closed period from the dashboard with a manual override. See Double-book or book outside working hours.

Change or delete a closed period

In Settings › Company, find the period in the Closed Periods card (you can search by name) and open its options to update or delete it. On the calendar, right-click the closed period.

If only one person is away, add time off for them instead. If one location is closed but others stay open, turn off that location's days with special days for each member who works there. Closed periods always apply to every location.
