Clients often share feedback at the front desk, over the phone or in an email. You can add it to Softalon as a review on their behalf, so it can appear on your booking site with the rest.

Before you start

  • You need the Administrator, Super Administrator or Owner role.
  • To link the review to a visit, the appointment must be Completed and must not have a review yet.
  • Only add reviews that reflect what the client actually told you.
  1. 1

    Step 1 of 7

    Open the Create Review dialog

In the sidebar, go to Reviews and click Create Review.

  2. 2

    Step 2 of 7

    Pick the location

Choose the Location the review is about.

  3. 3

    Step 3 of 7

    Link the appointment (recommended)

Turn on the Appointment switch and pick the client's completed appointment. The list shows completed appointments at the selected location, newest first. The review always takes the location of the appointment you pick.

    Linking an appointment matters:

    • The review shows the client's name. Without an appointment, the review has no reviewer name.
    • The team member and service ratings count toward that team member's and service's averages.
  4. 4

    Step 4 of 7

    Rate the visit

Click the stars under Overall Rating. This sets the service, team member and location ratings to the same value.

To rate them separately, click Fine-tune individual ratings and set Service Quality, Staff Member and Location & Atmosphere one by one. The overall rating is their average.

  5. 5

    Step 5 of 7

    Add the written review (optional)

Type the client's words in Written Review. It's optional here, even if your salon requires written reviews from clients.

  6. 6

    Step 6 of 7

    Create the review

    Click Create Review.

    You will see:

A Review Created message, and the review appears at the top of the Reviews page with its status switch off.

  7. 7

    Step 7 of 7

    Approve it

Turn on the switch in the Status column to show the review on your booking site. Reviews you add start unapproved, like reviews from clients.

You can add a reply after the review is created. Open the โ‹ฎ menu, choose Update and fill in Reply. See Approve and reply to reviews.

The appointment I want isn't in the list

The list only shows Completed appointments at the selected location. Mark the appointment as completed, or change the Location. Appointments that already have a review can't be used again.

A review for this appointment already exists

Each appointment can have one review. Find the existing review on the Reviews page using the Appointment filter, and update it instead.

Common questions
