On Telegram, clients message your salon through a Telegram bot. You create the bot in Telegram, then give its token to Softalon. Messages to the bot land in your inbox, and the AI assistant answers them.
Before you start
- Your salon is on the Accelerate or Ultimate plan.
- You're a Super Administrator or the Owner.
- You have the Telegram app.
- 1
Step 1 of 5
Create a bot in Telegram
In Telegram, open a chat with @BotFather, Telegram's official tool for creating bots. Send /newbot and follow the prompts to choose a display name, like Hair Haven, and a username that ends in bot, like hairhaven_bot.
- 2
Step 2 of 5
Copy the bot token
When the bot is created, BotFather sends you a token. It looks like a long string of numbers and letters with a colon in the middle. Copy it. Keep it private, since anyone with the token can control your bot.
- 3
Step 3 of 5
Open Integrations in Softalon
Go to Settings βΊ Integrations and find Telegram. Click Connect.
- 4
Step 4 of 5
Paste the token
In the Connect Telegram Bot Integration window, paste the token into Bot Token and click Connect.
You will see:An Integration Connected message appears, and the Telegram card shows Disconnect.
- 5
Step 5 of 5
Send a test message
In Telegram, search for your bot's username, open it, tap Start and send a message. Then open Conversations in Softalon.
You will see:The message appears in the inbox, and the assistant replies if it's turned on.
Share your bot link, t.me followed by the bot's username, on your website or social profiles so clients can find it.
If something is off
Invalid bot token
Telegram didn't accept the token. Copy it again from BotFather, with no spaces before or after, and paste it once more.
Messages to the bot don't show up
Disconnect Telegram and connect it again with the same token. If you created a new token in BotFather, the old one stops working, so connect with the new one.
Common questions
No. Clients reach a Telegram bot through its username or link, not a phone number.
