Add products

Products are items you sell besides services, like shampoo, styling cream or a gift card. Saving them as products means you don't have to type the name and price every time you add one to an invoice.

Products aren't shown on your booking site. Clients can't book or buy them online.

   Open the new product form

   In the sidebar, go to Products and click Create Product.

   Name and describe the product

   • Name: required. Each product name must be unique in your salon.
   • Excerpt: a short line, shown in the product list and used as the item description on invoices.
   • Description: a longer description for your team.

   Set the price and tax rate

   Turn on Price and enter the amount. Choose a Tax Rate, or No Tax Rate.

   Create the product

   Click Create.

   You will see:

   A Product Created message.

Add a product to an invoice

When you add an item to an invoice, search for the product by name. Softalon fills in its name, excerpt, tax rate and price. You can still change the quantity and amount on that invoice. Changing an invoice doesn't change the product.

Edit or delete a product

On the Products page, open the product's menu to update or delete it. Changes to a product don't affect invoices that already include it.
