Adding a member creates their profile in your salon. They can be booked once they have services, a location and working hours. They don't need a Softalon account for that. If you want them to sign in, invite them afterwards.
Before you start
- You're an Administrator, Super Administrator or the Owner.
- Your salon has an active subscription or trial.
- Your plan has room for another active member. Each plan allows a set number of active members. See Plans compared.
- 1
Step 1 of 6
Open the new member form
Go to Members and click Create Member.
If you've reached your plan's member limit, Softalon asks you to upgrade instead.
- 2
Step 2 of 6
Add a photo
Optional. Click the avatar to upload a photo of the team member. Clients may see it on your booking site.
- 3
Step 3 of 6
Fill in the profile
Enter the member's First Name, Last Name and Email Address. Phone Number is optional.
Each email address can be used by only one member in your salon. If you plan to invite them, use the email they'll sign in with.
- 4
Step 4 of 6
Choose the role and display role
- Role decides what the member can see and do. For most stylists, choose User. You can choose a role up to your own, but never Owner. See Roles and permissions explained.
- Display Role is the friendly title clients see, such as Hair Stylist. It doesn't affect permissions.
- 5
Step 5 of 6
Save
Click Create.
You will see:Member Created appears, followed by Send Invitation?. Click Yes, Send Invitation to email them now, or No, Skip to invite them later.
- 6
Step 6 of 6
Make them bookable
Open the member's tabs and set up:
- Services: which services they offer, with optional price or duration changes just for them.
- Locations: where they work.
- Working Hours: when they work at each location. These hours, not your salon's opening hours, decide when clients can book them. See Set a team member's working hours.
New members appear last in the booking order. To change the order clients see, click Reorder on Members. See The Members page explained.
If something is off
A member with this email address already exists in this salon
Someone on your team already uses that email. Search Members for it, or use a different email.
I can't pick a role
You can only give roles up to your own. For example, an Administrator can't create a Super Administrator. Ask someone with a higher role.
I see an upgrade prompt instead of the form
Your plan's limit on active members is reached. Upgrade, or turn off Status for a member who no longer works with you. See A feature says Upgrade required.
Common questions
No. Clients can book them without one. They need an account only to sign in and see their own schedule. See Invite a team member to sign in.
