Credits are how Softalon charges for messages and AI usage that cost money to deliver. Every plan includes credits each month, and you can buy more at any time.

You can see your balance in Settings β€Ί Plan & Billing, in the Credits card. It shows X credits available.

What uses credits

WhatHow it's counted
EmailFree
Push notificationsFree
SMSPer segment, and the rate depends on the recipient's country
WhatsAppPer message, and the rate depends on the recipient's country
AI assistantPer reply, based on how much text the AI reads and writes
Phone numbersA monthly charge for each number you rent
Call forwardingA monthly charge while forwarding is on

A long SMS is split into several segments, and each segment is counted. The Credit Usage table on the Softalon pricing page lists the current rate per channel and country.

For phone numbers and call forwarding, see Get a phone number for SMS and Forward calls to your phone.

Credits included in your plan

PlanCredits per month
Starter500
Accelerate1,000
Ultimate2,000
  • Monthly plans get the plan's credits at the start of each billing period.
  • Yearly plans get 12 months of credits at the start of each yearly period. For example, Accelerate yearly gives 12,000 credits.
  • Free trials get the monthly credits scaled to the trial length.

Plan credits don't roll over

Plan credits are for the current billing period only. At each renewal, unused plan credits expire and a fresh amount is added.

Plan credits also expire when:

  • a payment fails and the subscription becomes Past Due. You get a fresh amount when the payment goes through.
  • the subscription is canceled or becomes unpaid.

When you change plans

Changing plans starts a new billing period. Softalon removes the old plan's full credit amount for the period and adds the new plan's full amount. Your history shows this as Switched from and Switched to entries.

Plan credits you already used in the old period still count. For example, if you used 300 of Starter's 500 credits and then move to Accelerate, you end up with 1,000 minus 300, so 700 plan credits.

Purchased credits never expire

Credits you buy yourself stay in your account until you use them. They aren't removed at renewal or when a subscription ends.

Softalon always uses plan credits first. Purchased credits are only used once the plan credits for the period run out.

You can only use credits while your subscription is Active, Trialing or Past Due.

When you run out

If there aren't enough credits for something:

  • SMS and WhatsApp notifications aren't sent. Email and push notifications still go out.
  • The AI assistant doesn't reply to new messages, and suggested replies aren't available.
  • You can't rent a new phone number or turn on call forwarding.
  • An existing phone number's monthly renewal fails. You then have a 7-day grace period to add credits before the number is released.

To avoid this, buy more credits before you run out.
