By default, online bookings are confirmed right away. If you'd rather check each request first, set new bookings to wait for approval. Your team then confirms or declines each one.

Before you start

  • You need the Super Administrator or Owner role.

    Under Status After Reschedule, choose:

Click Save at the bottom of the card.

    You will see:

    A Settings Updated message appears.

What changes for clients and your team

With Pending Confirmation, new client bookings show as Awaiting Confirmation in your calendar and appointment lists. Your team approves or declines them. See Approve or decline booking requests.

The setting applies to bookings made:

  • on your booking site,
  • through your embedded booking widget, and
  • by clients chatting with the AI assistant.

Bookings your team makes from the calendar are confirmed right away, as long as the team member can manage all appointments. A member with the User role, who can only manage their own appointments, gets your default status when booking for a colleague.

When a client pays online during booking, the appointment shows as Awaiting Payment first. Once the payment goes through, it moves to your default status. See How clients pay when they book.

Labels you'll see

The settings page and the rest of the app use different words for the same statuses:

Common questions

No. The default status only applies to new bookings and, if you choose Revert to Default Status, to appointments clients reschedule from now on.
