Custom fields add your own questions to the booking form, like Hair length, Allergies or How did you hear about us. Clients answer them in the client details step when they book online. Your team sees the same fields when booking from the dashboard.

Where you can add fields

LevelWhere to add itShown when
SalonSettings › Booking › Custom FieldsEvery booking
LocationLocations › open a location › Advanced › Custom FieldsThe client books at that location
ServiceServices › open a service › Advanced › Custom FieldsThe client books that service

If two fields have the same key and the same Save to choice, the most specific one wins: service over location, and location over salon.

Where answers are saved

The Save to option decides where an answer goes:

  • Appointment: saved on that one appointment. Use it for questions about this visit, like Inspiration photo link or Occasion.
  • Client: saved on the client's profile and kept for future bookings. Use it for facts about the person, like Allergies or Date of Birth. A new answer replaces the old one for the same key.
