This guide covers the parts of Softalon you use every day: the sidebar, the salon switcher, the header menus, the command bar and the banners.
The Overview page
When you sign in without a default salon, you land on Overview. It lists every salon you belong to and any pending invitations. From here you can open a salon, create a new one or accept an invitation.
Click the Softalon logo in the sidebar to get back to Overview at any time.
The sidebar
The sidebar shows the parts of the salon you're allowed to use. What you see depends on your role, so two people in the same salon can see different menus. See Roles and permissions explained.
Members with the User role see only their own appointments, invoices and report numbers. See Roles and permissions explained.
Under the salon switcher, your booking site's domain is shown. Click it to open your site in a new tab.
On a phone, the sidebar becomes a bar at the bottom of the screen with four main items. The rest are under More.
The salon switcher
The salon name near the top of the sidebar, under the Softalon logo, opens the salon switcher. Search for a salon by name and click it to switch. Softalon keeps you on the same section, such as Calendar, in the other salon. Click Create New Salon to start a new one. See Switch salons and set a default salon.
The header
- Help menu: open the Help Center with Help, or reach us with Contact.
- Notifications: your recent notifications.
- Account menu: your Account pages, the Theme switch and Sign Out.
The command bar
Press ⌘K on a Mac or Ctrl+K on Windows, or press /, to open the command bar. Type to search pages and commands, then press Enter.
The command bar only shows pages and commands your role allows.
Keyboard shortcuts
These work when you're not typing in a field.
Banners at the top
Super Administrators and Owners may see a colored banner above the page. Only one shows at a time, in this order:
Billing pages are open to the Owner only, so a Super Administrator who sees a billing banner should ask the owner to act. See My subscription payment failed.
Common questions
Settings are for Super Administrators and Owners. Ask a Super Administrator or the Owner to change your role if you need access.
