A member's role decides what they can see and do in your salon. You change it on their profile. See Roles and permissions explained for what each role allows.
Before you start
- You're an Administrator, Super Administrator or the Owner.
- The member's current role is the same as yours or lower.

Open the member
Go to Members, open the member's ⋯ menu and click Update.

Pick the new role
On the Profile tab, choose a new Role.

Save
Click Save.
You will see:Member Updated appears. The new role shows in the Role column on Members. The member gets the new access the next time they load a page.
Who can change whose role
Softalon checks every role change on the server:
On the Owner's profile, the Role field is locked and shows Owner role cannot be changed. Use ownership transfer to change the salon owner.
Display role
The Display Role field on the same card is the title clients see, such as Senior Stylist. You can change it without changing permissions.
If something is off
I get an error when saving the new role
Either the member's current role is higher than yours, or the new role is higher than yours. Ask a member with a higher role, or the Owner, to make the change.
The Owner option is grayed out
Ownership can't be given through a role change. The Owner can transfer it from Settings › Danger Zone.
